The Background
Stobbs have a large office in Cambridge, but their requirement for representation in London has also grown significantly over the last few years. This is the 3rd office we have acquired for them . They have doubled their occupational requirement in London every few years, moving from a single floor in Cynthia St King’s Cross to a self contained building in St Chads Place. Now they have doubled their floor plate again and relocated to 222 Grays Inn Road, on the cusp of Clerkenwell and Bloomsbury and a short walk from King’s Cross Station.
The Brief
We were asked to acquire “Stobbs type space “ ideally pretty close to King’s Cross. In contrast to conventional lawyers Stobbs were after creative / quirky office space ideally with exposed surfaces and lots of natural light and volume.
The Challenge
We needed to move fast because an opportunity had arisen to move early from St Chad’s Place. We came up with loads of options but we had to kiss a number of frogs before a prince was found.
The Outcome
We found a great opportunity at 222 Grays Inn Roadd. A stylishly fitted out predominantly open plan 7139 ft2 floor with its own kitchen, showers and conference rooms. The office has loads of natural light and exposed concrete walls and ceiling. It also came furnished and with 2 car parking spaces. An attractive commercial deal was negotiated.
