About St James’s
St James’s is an exclusive enclave in the heart of London’s West End, just South of Mayfair and only about a quarter of its size. St James’s offers a good selection of period and modern offices, in a setting steeped in history.
Once a residential location, developed for the aristocracy in the 17th Century, since the Second World War, it has become primarilly a commercial area.
Within walking distance from both Green Park and St James’s Park. Many landmark buildings, such as St James’s Palace, have been preserved and St James’s is generally perceived to be a very prestigious office location by a wide range of office users. Occupiers are attracted by famous clubs – dating from the 19th Century – on Pall Mall, St James’s St and St James’s Square (such as the RAC, The Carlton Club, Whites & The In and Out) and by restaurants, shops and night clubs around Jermyn St. St James’s is also home to the Institute of Directors and Christie’s – the famous auction house.
St James’s has excellent communications – Charing Cross and Victoria mainline stations are walkable from this area, together with underground stations including Piccadilly Circus and Green Park.
Rent and overall occupancy cost in St James’s is similar to Mayfair – i.e. the highest in Central London.
