As well as being a Property Partner here at Find a London Office, I’m also a Trustee of The Story of Christmas which raises money for chosen charities at this time of year. The Story of Christmas is largely supported by the London property industry.
There is only the one event each year, and this took place just before Christmas: the carol service in St Georges Church, Hanover Square was attended by about 400 people where the Choir of St George’s Chapel Windsor Castle sang. Aled Jones performed the narration and readers included Ian Hislop, Charles Dance, Penelope Wilton, John Sessions and many other well known performers. Martin Jarvis gave an amazingly animated delivery of “A visit from Saint Nicholas “, also perhaps better known as “Twas the night before Christmas”
The attendees were then treated to a gathering at the Dorchester where refreshments were served and a charity auction took place
The result of the evening?
In excess of a third of a million pounds that can be directed to deprived children and adults in and around London.
A lot of work by a strong team throughout the year – and a lot of money for the recipients who really have need of it.
