We have finally been granted our wish for summer to arrive!  Although I don’t think we were expecting it to be as hot as it is in Miami! Miami residents are used to this heat, they can cool off in their air conditioned homes, take a dip in a near by pool or failing that lie on the beach. In the London heat however, it isn’t so easy to cool down. Temperatures hit 32 degrees on Wednesday – the hottest day of the year, and the Met office put out a “level three” alert , as  conditions deemed dangerous to health are reached.

Here at Find a London Office, we have come up with some ideas to cool down during the heatwave.

Cool down with a healthy frozen yoghurt

Counter the London Heat with Frae organic frozen yoghurt

Instead of indulging in those calorific ice creams try Frae,  For organic, fat free, British-made frozen yoghurt.

As they say on their website: “Made with Love, FRAE yogurt comes to us FRESH from a proper dairy farm in North Wales. Lovingly swirled into a cup and topped with juicy seasonal fruit toppings it makes for a deliciously refreshing treat. Yogurt just tastes better fresher!”

Frae frozen yoghurt can be found in six central London locations

For a dip in a ice cold plunge pool try

Ironmonger Baths London

Ironmonger Baths London (Islington Gazette)

Ironmonger Row Baths – located north of the City of London, in Norman Street.

Having recently undergone a massive £16.5 million refurbishment in which many of the building’s historical features have been retained and lovingly restored, the Ironmonger Row Baths includes the installation of a state-of-the-art gym, a five-lane swimming pool and the introduction of a new second pool. In the basement, the original Turkish Hamman has undergone a facelift, featuring hot rooms, two saunas, steam rooms and  a cold plunge pool . The facilities are of the highest standard, with over fifty spa treatments to choose from.

A great way to find relief from the London heat!

For an excellent roof top bar experience try

Radio Roof Top Bar - London

Radio Roof Top Bar – London (Trip Advisor)

Radio Roof Top Bar – on top of the ME London Hotel, in The Strand – minutes from Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden and the Houses of Parliament.

You might find some relief from the London heat, if you go a little higher….

As Time Out says: “The name Radio derives from the location – a grand art deco edifice once known as Marconi House, but now the fancy ME London hotel. Radio is on the roof, ten floors up, where transmission aerials once stood. The terrace is equipped with big sofas and space heaters, and mainly faces south: there’s the Oxo Tower and Big Ben. The bar attached to this view is great too. This is a sleek, glammed-up, ‘Sex and the City’ destination for long-legged model types and ski-holiday-brochure chaps with unseasonal tans. A man with a clipboard decides where you can sit; a DJ keeps it upbeat.”
